Heading to Hackensack for the Book and Art Festival on Saturday.  It's suppose to hot and I'm glad I will be inside their community building.  Hope to see some familiar faces.

Hello from the Northland!  I'm heading home..yup!  Back to my roots would be I.   This time for the 2nd Annual Stagecoach Days in Mantorville, Minnesota. The dates are Saturday and Sunday June 27th and 28th.  You can find me near the Mantorville Art Gallery grounds.  They ask for "Period Dress" so..I'm using my garb from the 2011 Civil War Days in Wasioja.  Right now, I'm hoping it still fits.  Hope to see you there.  Look for the large white pavilion.

Hey...it launched today!  The new website for The Old Guy.   You can now find me at dlhouseman.com        Huh!  Who would have thunk it?  Actually, I had a professional site builder do it.  Name?  Jaime Lillemo from Bemidji.  We still have to work out some kinks, but it's up.  Tomorrow I head to Warroad Elementary in Warroad, Minnesota for a short two day Artist in Residency.  I'm looking forward to getting back into the classroom.  Nancy Hazelton is the 5th grade teacher hosting me as I join her class and two others. We are all set for a project I call "Draw First/ Write Second".  Should be a great time as I head back to teaching.  Which I Love!

FLASH!  I wish I could tell you everything about the new One Person showing of Maureen O'brien's fabulous artwork opening at Ravenrock Jewelry and Fine Art Gallery in Bemidji (1000 Paul Bunyan Dr. NW) this Friday - April 3rd, but there's no time.  It is of course the Bemidji's First Friday Art Walk, and the reception is starting at 4:30 - 6:30, but the announcement missed being printed in the Pioneer's Art news.  However, you do not want to miss these works and meeting the artist.  You will not be disappointed.  The show is entitled "Peace and Healing".  Studio 10 Artists will also be on hand to help with this opening.

It seems like I've taken this favorite barn painting entitled "Waiting" all around the country for almost 5 years now.  Well, it's going on the block at a wonderful opportunity at Barbwire Clothing Co.'s  -

"Hittin' the Road" super sale.   Owner Linnea Frenzel is transitioning her business to a mobile unit and celebrating by having a Super Sale.   She has invited me to join and I'm doing the same by placing all framed work, books and prints on sale as well.  Not sure if everyone needs an Original

Heading down to the Cannon Winery in Cannon Falls, Minnesota on February 7th.  I have been invited back for my third year for their Author's Signing event.   It runs from noon until 5pm and I will be signing books and have a few pieces of artwork along.  The signing takes place upstairs in their new event room.  Please join me and check out their wines which will be served throughout the event.  Here's a new book trailer that my artist friend Jaime Lillemo has created.  I hope to have one made for each book.  Hope you enjoy it.
