Hey, I'm really excited to announce that I and my fellow members of Studio 10 will be opening a new show entitled "Northern Artistry" in the Fargo-Moorhead area in January.
The opening is Friday, January 15th from 5:30 - 7pm.
If you are in the area, please join me.  I will have 5 pieces of work.  Three paintings and two woodcut prints.   Two the works are shown here:

I can't believe it's that time of year again.  The Bemidji Area Studio Art Cruise is this Friday, Saturday and Sunday!  Gull Lake is gorgeous and in full Fall colors, and I've got the Stuff On Paper studio all cleaned and ready for my guests.  This is always one of my favorite presentations of my work.  Original art work is something everyone should consider for their home or office.  Lot's of artists don't sell their originals, but I see it as one of the highest compliments and connections with a patron.   I'll have special prices on many original pieces both old and new.  Of course, I will also have my children's books, prints and NEW note cards based upon my BARNS ARE NOBLE images.   Studio hours:  10-5 Fri./Sat.  10-3 Sun.....Hope you can join me.

Hackensack was a great time with good sales and lots of fun customers.  Heading to Willmar, Minnesota for their annual Celebrate Art/Celebrate Coffee Festival.  I love this event too.  Lots of artists, great people, music and yes free coffee.  Here's my latest new barn painting.  No title yet, so you can weigh in with a suggestion.  Festival runs from 10 am to 4 pm. Saturday.

Heading to Hackensack for the Book and Art Festival on Saturday.  It's suppose to hot and I'm glad I will be inside their community building.  Hope to see some familiar faces.

Hello from the Northland!  I'm heading home..yup!  Back to my roots would be I.   This time for the 2nd Annual Stagecoach Days in Mantorville, Minnesota. The dates are Saturday and Sunday June 27th and 28th.  You can find me near the Mantorville Art Gallery grounds.  They ask for "Period Dress" so..I'm using my garb from the 2011 Civil War Days in Wasioja.  Right now, I'm hoping it still fits.  Hope to see you there.  Look for the large white pavilion.

Hey...it launched today!  The new website for The Old Guy.   You can now find me at dlhouseman.com        Huh!  Who would have thunk it?  Actually, I had a professional site builder do it.  Name?  Jaime Lillemo from Bemidji.  We still have to work out some kinks, but it's up.  Tomorrow I head to Warroad Elementary in Warroad, Minnesota for a short two day Artist in Residency.  I'm looking forward to getting back into the classroom.  Nancy Hazelton is the 5th grade teacher hosting me as I join her class and two others. We are all set for a project I call "Draw First/ Write Second".  Should be a great time as I head back to teaching.  Which I Love!
