Snow has fallen here at Gull Lake and making it a beautiful setting for my first open studio day.   I'm hosting fellow artists Kathy Gustafson and Terry Honstead this Saturday, December 7th from 10 - 4pm for a Holliday Art Sale.  Stuff On Paper studio will be all gussied up for the season and we'll have treats and SUPER sales on originals, prints, jewelry, greeting cards, my children's books and more.   Please join us!   2 miles West of Tenstrike on Co. 29 and follow the signs.   Check out this winter pic.

Cool news...well, cool to this "needy" artist.  Always great to have your work accepted by a purchase.
November First's Pictograph/Petroglyph show at Wild Hare Bistro opened with one purchase prior to the show by a life long friend DB...(thank you) buying "Bison Talisman" and then another sale of the piece entitled  "Turtle River Turtle"a painting of a stone in the snow... making last week a real Grade A event for Donnie Boy.
The following Monday, I joined Kathy Gustafson to set the second show at Ravenrock, which does not truly open until Dec. 6th.   Excitingly, Kathy sold one as we were placing the pieces on the wall.  Yahoo!
This weekend promises to bring closure on the Small Art for Big Hearts - Take 2 event.

Two at Once...well almost.   This Friday is the opening reception of my show "Lost Pictographs and Petroglyphs" at the Wild Hare Bistro in Bemidji.  I've had multiple shows at this place and they do a great job with welcoming artists.  Times for Friday the 1st of November are from 3-5pm.  Please join me.   The second event coming up is at Ravenrock Gallery also in Bemidji, in which Kathy Gustafson and I will be sharing our Artistic Exploration show for the months of Nov. & Dec.   That opening will be Dec. 6th.

Crunch time and I've now turned my attention to the "two person" show at Ravenrock for November and December.  I'm very fortunate to be teamed up with Kathy Gustafson, one super Artist who is also a member of Studio 10.   Our theme deals with exploration in which we both decided to try something different.  So, Ol' Donnie Boy has drop his previous painting style and gone with a more traditional technique.  I've chosen "shoreline birds" as my subjects.   Here's a couple of samples for the up coming show.  Our reception will be December 6th.  

Here's a preview of my most recent works for the 2013 November showing in Bemidji at the Wild Hare Bistro.  All will be acrylic paintings and will deal with pictographs and petroglyphs.  Again, a "tip of the hat" to my Grandson Ryan for the whole idea.

No postings for a long as I have been busy this summer of 2013 and the fall will be even busier.   Now, back on track and working.   Starting this Sept. 6th and I'll be joining my art group Studio 10 with a single piece at Bridgid's Cross Pub in Bemidji with our "Birds of a Feather" show.   Here's my work entitled "Sorta Shy".    Opening Reception is on this First Friday Art Walk from 4:30-6:30 ....join me if you can.  Don

I have been given a special opportunity in which I'd like to pass on to all my wonderful supporters of my artwork and writings.  On May 3rd, 2013, I will be making a rare offering of 12 original pen and ink drawings from my first two children's books.  These are all
 "one of kind" images, signed, matted and framed.  The show will feature these images, some new woodcut prints, books, signed prints AND a glimpse of the final Harvey story book: "Christmas Comes to Harvey and His Friends", which is due out this Fall.   This all takes place at the newly remodeled The Cabin Coffee Shop in Bemidji, Mn. on the date stated above from 5 - 7pm opening reception.   Please join me!

Heads up!  The Artists of Studio 10 are co-hosting an opening of "Places Far and Near" along with
Brigid's Pub in Bemidji this Friday - March 1 from 4:30-6:30pm.  Here's one of my new works entitled "Grover's Challenge" that I will be showing.  I might even have a new "barn" piece....imagine that!

The third book of my animal stories is written and in the hands of my editor.   We'll have to see if it joins these two previous and successful publications.  Stay tuned.
